In thin film silicon (amorphous and micromorphous), a thin layer of absorber is usually deposited onto glass coated with a Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) which serves as the front electrode.
The main properties of the coated glass are
- its transparency,
- its morphology and
- its electrical conductivity.
When correctly used, the TCO-coated glass can significantly improve the efficiency of the module by trapping light in the absorber layer.
Thanks to its experience with industry leaders since years, AGC Solar has developed a full range of coatings to suit each type of thin film silicon cell. The contribution of our technology to solar cells is widely acknowledged by industry players, from manufacturers of PV modules to academic institutions.
In addition to the front glass, AGC Solar also provides solutions for the back glass.
